Step Up For Students
Families can apply for scholarships through Step Up For Students, which offers support in navigating several Florida scholarship programs.
Available Scholarship Programs
Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities
Provides scholarships to eligible families whose child has an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Best for: Students with an IEP
Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program
Offers educational support through scholarships to eligible students from families with limited financial resources.
Best for: Families with limited financial resources
Family Empowerment Scholarship Program
Helps low-income families attend an eligible private school of choice and reduces the Florida Tax Credit (FTC) Scholarship waitlist.
Best for: Low-income families choosing a private school

The SUFS Handbook states students must present themselves in person for a minimum of 10 days each quarter.

Enroll at SDA
Once awarded, contact our registration office and we’ll help you apply your scholarship toward enrollment.
Scholarship Family Responsibilities
Each campus accepts new student enrollments throughout the school year. Once your scholarship is awarded, families are asked to:
- Maintain active enrollment at your designated campus
- Approve school invoices within 30 calendar days of receiving them
- Keep contact and scholarship account information current
- Maintain communication with the school
- Complete required scholarship testing for eligible students in grades 6–10
- Regularly check your email and scholarship portal for notices, deadlines, and required actions
Important: Timely completion of scholarship requirements helps prevent delays or interruptions in student funding and access to the education platform.
Verification Deadlines
For the 2026–2027 school year, scholarship verification must be completed by each of the following dates. They are also marked on the school calendar.
